I'm ordering some stuff from Big Al's and was wondering if I should order some meds while I'm there just to have on hand. My gourami got sick last week and I had to rush to a lfs and spent double what Big Al's charges.
In your opinion, what is the best medicine to have just in case?

You are lucky... the Maracyn tabs (24 count) at Big Al's are $6.99. I just paid $14.99 for the exact same thing at the lfs. No Big Al's near me... :(

for ick get quick cure.

I much prefer the heat/salt method for ich.

Some other good ones:
Prazi
Metronidazole
Maracyn
Epsoms salts
Betadine

some of those you can get at the grocery store though.

I always have meds available just in case. Right now, I have "Triple Sulfa" by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals for bacterial infections and "Parasite Clear" by Jungle Labs for internal and external parasites. I also have a few bottles of Coppersafe. I like to have a box of Kosher Salt too.

You're not losing out on anything. Because there are Big Als shops in Canada the Canadian version of the website won't undersell them, so, even after the dollar conversion your Big Al's is much cheaper than ours.

Back to the topic, I wouldn't order meds ahead of time, as Kas said, shelf life is a concern.
