Best Method of Re-arranging Plants??

What is the best method for re-arranging plants in my tank? As they grow, I see the need of moving a couple from front to back, etc. Should I just pick them up and replant?

Any "tricks" from the experts would be great! Thanks!

BTW - plant list: Anubias Nana, Cabomba, Rotala Wallichi, Lilaeopsis Mauritiana, Java Fern, Java Moss, Eusteralis Stellata, Kleiner Bar Sword (not complete, but most of them)

If the plant has a lot of roots, I try and just scoot it forward and move the gravel around it. It sure beats pulling up a mass of roots and trying to re-plant it.

Mind you, pulling it up, trimming the roots and replanting can stimulte growth. Depends on species; do it to a crypt and it'd probably melt.

Great - thanks for the input. I have "slid" plants around a little - it seems to work pretty good and doesn't "cloud" the tank as bad.
