Best Placement for Light?

Just got a 120 gallon tank with a 48inch light and was wondering where is the best place to position the light over the tank in reference to closer to front, middle or in the back of the tank....

I've tried all and they seem to be the same to me. Not really a visual difference.

The only difference I might think of is in a planted tank. If your majority of plants are in the background, maybe a light placed at the back opf the tank might work better.
