where do I buy guppy grass java moss at? My options are petco, petsmart. walmart EEEK I really don't want to go there. How much does it cost? I have 3 kids so my funding is limited. Thanks
Java Moss by far is the best, in my opinion. You should probably call around in your LFS first. Ma and Pops usually carry them. Over here in cali, I only pay about 2.50 per clump. It'll be cheaper buying it locally, unless you plan on buying a TON of plants online to make shipping worth it... but then, that would totally kill your budget.
Java moss is good as others have already said. I personally like hornwort for fry. Actually I don't like hornwort much but it does wonders for my fry with the cover it provides. It is a floating plant that is long and stringy looking but with lots of needle-like growth. It just sort of ends up forming a huge mass in the tank as it grows and gets tangled around itself. When you first put it in a tank it has been known to lose all its leaves and then grow out newer growth that has all the leaves on it. When it loses all its leaves like that it looks like a christmas tree exploded in the tank because of all the leaves that end up at the bottom of the tank.
If I can find a heat pack I may have a lot to sell here in a day or so. my HOB's keep it floating around, and with as much as I have the tank is all java moss!!
I am willing to trade for lots of pennywart!!
