Best plants for paludariums

I've always enjoyed the aquarium/terrarium aka paludarium but have never actually set one up but lately I have started to do research about setting one up.

After reading about the setting up I still want to hear about good plants to use in the water and especially out of water and those that are great for planted in water but foliage above water.

Any other ideas and tips welcome.

Little known fact for you Most aquarium trade plants that we put submerged under water most will survive if not thrive with just the roots being kept wet

Yes the available "aquatic" plants only a handful are obligate full aquatic. Most are marsh plants that survive submerging, but would really rather grow up out of the water and usually only flower when they can do so. The flowers make true identification much easier as well.
