Best Power filter out there?

Have to agree with the others on an AquaClear. You can buy enough extensions to get the intake tube way down into the tank, Other filters aren't as easy to extend. I have 4 - AC 110's and have no complaints. P.S. if they rattle too much, take off the lid.
I have no real complaints about the Emperors other than they can difficult to prime and restart. They also struggle a bit to bring up water from down in the tank, however, I have 2 on a 90 gallon and they work well except for problems noted. If it's a shallow tank I think they would be great.

It's a very deep tank, I want as much as filtration on it as I can get. 24" deep, and stuff. right now , I have a topfin 40 and it's not as effective as I'd want it to be, how much are the attachments to the AC?
What do you mean, it leaks by the intake? If the media is clogged most HOBs will have the excess flow back around the top of the intake...bypassing the pads etc, it sucks harder than th return flow can go, water has to go somewhere...Leaks onto the floor? That's trouble, otherwise clean or replace some media.

I have always had aquaclears,ran them on saltwater tanks and fresh,have a 110 on my 75 fresh now,I would buy a 110,you can always cut back on the flow and if you upgrade to a larger tank,you won't have to buy another,just a suggestion,marine and reef sells them pretty cheap.
I mean, the intake tube doesn't fit all the way in the slot it's supposed to, and it leaks back down the tube before getting filtered
im going to be the one to go against the masses. ive tried AC's and altho they get the job dont the Aqueon quiet flow filter are my personal favorite. They auto-prime, there more powerful than other filters rated for the same size tanks, the filter pads are huge and reasonably priced, and they have a removable wet/dry filter output that drips the water over a series of pegs and aerates it. i have them on 2 out of my 3 tanks that have power filters (other one is my 29 that came with a tetra ex70 wich i hate and plan on replacing). ive tried alot of other filters including AC and altho they get the job done there nothing special IMO
I've had that happen with Whispers (the intake backwash, not fitting down all the way) I think yours is the same filter differently branded. Is it noisy too? There are 2 end caps on the impeller shaft that need to be removed & the seats cleaned with a Q-tip. I even had to buy an impellor just to get the end caps. Might be the shaft is bent, I'd play around with it some more before pitching it. ACs are better but Whisper types are evn faster to clean, I like that.
