Best way to clean a shell?

We went beachcombing over the weekend, and I found a cool empty snail shell that I would like to put into my tank. I have it soaking in bleach now.

What is the best way to sterilize it? Does the bleach work, or should I boil it? How do I be sure all the organic matter is out of the thing?

ohh i don't know if you should have used bleach... boiling for 5 mins does the trick...

Bleaching it is fine. Just be sure to air dry it long enough that you don't smell the bleach anymore.

I boiled mine for a while and then put them in.
