Best way to maximize platy fries survival rate

I believe significant numbers will survive if you have a tank full of densely pack of java moss, especially if they are tall as well. Mine unfortunately, only fills 1/3 from the front, and only half way up in height compare to the size of the tank.

I saw two fries at the same time now, so I know there's at elast two... :D

I was watching one of them coming out of the moss, and almost got eaten by the mother! Those little things are so fast...

Is it easy to breed? Oh yes, they are supposed to be one of the (if not the most) easiest and hardiest to breed...

Another plant that works really well for me in breeder tanks is hornwort, since I seem to be the only person alive who can kill java moss  It grows rapidly to fill all levels of the tank so they have somewhere to hide at the surface too.

How much light do you have? Also, does it clog the filter at all?

I've had it in tanks of very widely differing light levels, everything from about .5 watts per gallon to 3. Low-light levels slow it down a bit, but since many folks consider it a noxious weed that could be a good thing :) It even flourished in my brackish tanks. It sometimes sheds when you first get it, especially if it comes in looking kinda brown and crunchy (a common occurance around here), but quickly recovers and turns a bright green. Once it's established, I don't have any problems with it clogging the filters at all. Many of the "noxious weeds" are good for breeding stuff in. Another good grower is hygrophilia and you can get good cover from duckweed, azola, or salvinia as well.
