Beta Fish and cold water

I was unable to cull any of the first betta that I spawned and the most beautiful ones are unable to swim that well, they are healthy with curved spines I put one loose in a 29 gallon tank, and then let 3 mini females that would not grow loose with him.
There are lots of plants and other fish in there so I watched them closely. He immediately built a nest and spawned with one of the females I took pictures it was beautiful but of course doomed. It has been months now and they all 4 are doing quite well together, none the worse for the wear and when he flares out in that big tank he is gorgeous even if he is not perfect. And yes females are gorgeous when they are healthy and happy.
..............sorry did I get off track...??

i have one in a 2 gallon tank with a internal airpump, no heater and it swims around a lot like all the time. i dont know why tho since its so small , but at least its happy :-)
