i have a tank thats about to be empty and i was thinking about putting a betta in it but the tank has some alge patches on it and the snails are'nt really doing the job so i was going to put a couple of ottos in there and take out the snail. so is there a good chance that the betta would ignor them or would he try and kill them?

I have my 4 males in with my otto and he gets along fine.

thanks for the info i went out yesterday and bought a Cambodian betta he's got a white body a pinkish red head and teal green fins and so far hes doing great. when he first saw an otto he went up to and was looking at it for awhile then he slaped it with his tail and ignored it. he's also in there with a dwarf frog and that just confused him to much. but so far so great every thing is doing well.

SET UP
2.5gal

incandesant light hood (good for heating the water

male Cambodian betta
2x otto's
african dwarf frog

I just put an oto in with my betta (and other fish) yesterday and the betta seems very curious about him. He got used to the other fish swimming around and loves to chase them but he seems to be confused as to why the oto just sits on the side of the tank! The oto just ignores him. So far, so good :)

i have a male betta in my 55g and he has never shown any aggression besides chasing now and again.

my otto's get really close to him and never a problem.

just watch the betta for a week or so and make sure your beta plays nice.

Bettas only bother other Bettas, so your good.
