Betta Breeding Experiment

i breed crowntail, halfmoon and yes the occasional veiltail. In fact today i put my male veiltail and female crowntail together. So i should be expecting some combtails.

um i hate to break it to you but 17 jars is not even close to the amount you'll need bettas have hundreds of fry. I cull mine so in the end i end up with about 50 offspring.DarrylR are those bettas yours?
I know, I am not doing that anymore.

Sweet, which sells for the highest?

I'd suggest a barracks system for your breeding males. And halfmoons sell the highest along with halfmoon plakats.

Instead of glassjars you can get some pretty cheap containers on aquabid.com Its like 50 of them for like 22 bucks+shipping heres the link------> http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/search.cgi
You should also get a 30 gallon tank to breed your male and female and buy some lve floating plants or just fake plants and let them float.
And jut about two 1 gallon fish tanks for your male and female to dondition them and thats all you really need.

I was planning on breeding crowntails (it didn't work out... I lost the male to swimbladder disorder and the female to velvet :() and I used this website: http://bettatalk.com/breeding_bettas.htm Which I found very helpful (I did change a few of the things around though to save money). Good luck! ;)
