Or you could ask a petsmart or petco for the free betta cups. Like in some petsmart they take the betta out of the cup and put it in the display and throw away the cup.

Bulk food isle at your local supermarket. One near me has those with lids. They come ina few different sizes. They are meant for customers to bulk buy peanut butter, jam, olives, and such.
 
I was going to suggest the grow-out containers on aquabid, but someone beat me to it!!

I just have to say, I don't agree with bettas in those containers, but I have found a million and one uses for the one I have from the betta I bought in one of them. Including using it for a floating brineshrimp hatchery in the tank I'd intended to feed with them!

Good luck. Maybe try gladware type containers.
