First thing, I hope this is the right board. I'm thinking it is but please correct me if its not.
Second, I just started breeding betta fish (splendens?) and I think I have gotten everything right up to this point. However, I don't have a dark bodied female so there obviously won't be vertical bars, so how do you tell when they are ready to be put with the male? I have had th female in a sort of chimeny for a while, so I posted some pics. Please tell me what you think, and maybe how soon I should put them together. Thanks!
Oh, and third, the tank is actually much bigger in realy life
Okay so here's the tank and the setup. It's the not the best picture but oh well.
Here is my gorgeous male Charon. I'm just showing this picture because I love this little boy.
Alright now this is what my question is on. This is my female, Kit. She is definately getting rounder, but based on the pictures, what do you think? Is she ready to leave the chimney to finish teh spawning process with the male, or should I keep her in there longer?
