My betta appears to be hunting for food. would he appreciate live food so he can use his hunting skills? I could probably raise brine shrimp for him but need other suggestions, I want him to be happy. thanks

Certainly, why not? It's nature after all. Don't be surprised if they end up getting missed though...livebearer fry can be quite crafty sometimes and know how to hide from other fish, especially if your tank is planted.

Remember to feed your betta with platy fry sparingly though... pellets are a good staple, and frozen foods are good too.

I've hear of small ghost shrimp being used as live food. He could stalk them around the tank and have a tasty treat.
