I have a crowntail betta in a 5 gallon tank that I added a small ping pong ball to and he loves to push it around with his head. Guess it keeps him from getting bored all day! Anyone else have this experience with any of their fish? :o

Never tried a ping pong ball, however my betta loves to chase a turkey baster around and around his tank. He'll follow it for ages and when he catches it he'll try to bite it. He thinks he's so tough he'll take on anything, even if it's 10 times his size.

I'll have to try that turkey baster it sounds like a lot of laughs and good exercise for the betta. Mine is the same way, thinks he is "King of the Road"!

my betta never stops poking aroung and exploring. he's always on the bottom, looking for foodbits (yes, I feed him enough!) and chasing my ghost shirmp. he gets a blast out of poking it and making it shoot away like lighting!

Oh, my betta is very playful as well. He likes to follow/rub on my hand as I clean. I always have to be careful not to whack him in the 10 gallon. OOhhhh, and he can beg for food, too. Bettas are tons of fun!:)

No betta, but several of my fish have their own silly habits.

My dwarf gourami likes to follow a finger up and down the side of the tank..for about 30 seconds, then he'll back up and charge the tank head on,
fins flaring and end up making a "popping" noise against the side of the tank--like he's kissing it explosively.

One of my cory will come up and nuzzle my hand while I'm cleaning, and if I leave a space between my palm and the gravel vac, he'll try to snuggle into it. Silly thing's nearly gotten his fins snipped when I'm pruning plants! When I first got him, I transferred him (or is it a her? haven't figured that out yet) in the palm of my hand. The other corys zipped off as soon as I lowered my hand into the water, this one just sat there and wriggled till I dumped him out.

Of our five oto's, one is addicted to doing barrel rolls thru the hollowed out center of the zuchini slices I put in several times a week. It'll come up, start nibbling along the rind, then dash off, turn around, and come dashing back cutting straight thru the open center of the slice, doing one complete roll as it goes thru. Fish are weird. :)

yeah, my BN pleco starts with the rind first when she eats veggies, my betta doesn't like live food, feeds my other fish, ect. I think i'm gonna call my betta saint blue from now on!

i have 2 bettas in a 10 gallon with a divider, so you can understand they like to square off with each other when they can see each other. when its feeding time and i open the lid on the hood, both are eagerly waiting, sometimes even cocky enough to dart up and out of the water for a quick bite when its in my fingers!

anyways, i'll have to try that ping pong ball thing. im going to clean up my tank a bit so i can get amano shrimps and snails. just hoping my bettas like roommates....
