I have my Betta, Lars Ulrich, in a 10 gal. community tank with 3 albino cories (recently lost one) and six neon tetras (two black, two glowlights, and two regular). I've had this tank running for a few months now.
My problem is that the regular neons are nipping at Lars' fins and they are looking pretty ragged. He's too slow to really defend himself and I'm wondering what I should do about this. He gets along great with the cories and occasionally lounges on top of them (!!!) when he's not being harassed by these pesky neons.
What should I do about this situation? I can take the neons back to the LFS, but should I take them ALL back? The glowlights and the black neons don't seem to bother him at all. Maybe more of them? I'm thinking of ditching all the tetras (
) and getting a couple more cories to make a bigger school, especially since Lars seems to enjoy watching them.
I'm open to any suggestions. The betta gets along great with any peaceful fish as well as shrimp. Any advice on this would be great!
