I'm going tomorrow, so hopefully they will have some good ones! if not, I can go back on wednesday, thats when they get their shipments.

Definitly wait till the new shipment comes in...and man, I wish there was ONE store here in my area that kept thier bettas in such nice conditions as the one you mentioned...where abouts are you located....lol...Would they let you take a picture of the tank they keep them in, so you can share with us here ? Maybe if we had a picture of something like that and brought it to our LFSs...some might pick up on the idea and maybe do something similar. Worth a try I'd say !

If the area that you are keeping your tank in is a stable temp in the mid low to mid 70's don't even bother with a heater. If using a light to warm the tank then you will have a period of heating and cooling which is not good for the fish. You can get small fluro lamps dirt cheap now days. You want to keep ypur tank as stable an environment as possible and small tanks are a real chore in this area.

Oh...I voted "Other" on your poll. I'm not real fond of blues and reds either as that's about all I see when I look at them...lol. Though, I do have a very bright red and a few blues.

I always look for the unusually colored ones. I have a copper, a green with orange fins, a yellow, white with pastel blue in his fins, a neon purple colored one.....and I did have that blue marble pie bald.

I can't say for sure which I would pick....but basically, anything out of the ordinary. ;)

I agree with EMG...I look for the unusual colors..I like the blue that fades to red, but the white you have with the red and blue on the fins is beautiful!!

I dont suggest a heater in a small tank. I'm no expert but if something goes wrong small ammounts of water can get really hot really fast."speaking from experience"

At another forum I frequent we went over the "How to heat the smaller tank" issue. One of the best ideas I think was to use those heater pads for reptile tanks. Placing them underneath the aquarium and watching the thermometer while the water heats up. You can adjust the heat by moving part of the pad over out from under the tank. Some folks involved in that discussion found it to be a very effective way to heat a smaller tank...though those pads run between 15 and 20 $.

Get a Chocolate Betta If you can find one, if not get a white one i love my white male hes such a cutie!

I have a sort of chocolate betta...he's like mint chocolate really...lol....here's a pic...
