(I deeply regret not cleaning the glass on the last photo)

I would have named him Crimson Thunder, but I have a policy of not naming fish.

Those are some very cool betas... You guys are making me want to set up my 10 gal tank into a beta tank...

Say hello to Strawberry. I just decided to take some pics of him now and found out he likes the camera. Now all I have to do is get some less blurry pics of him, but I just liked this one.

Niiiiice...I like that 'fringe' look to their fins. I was looking for a nice crowntail when Strawberry showed up at my work and my husband just HAD to have him. Since I'm in the acute stage of MTS, I'm sure I'll have a place for another betta soon. :p:

Well, no, they fry wont' last in a community tank if you managed to even breed them in one.

Male and female betta should never be put together except to breed them...and as soon as they are done doing thier thing....momma comes out. Dad will care for the eggs and fry until they start free swimming..than all bets are off and he'll eat them if they can't hide somewhere.

I had a tank full of over 200 betta fry once...my first betta breeding experience...for 6 months of my life all I knew was cleaning fish cups and feeding fry....! It was fun and intersting I suppose...but not something I want to do again unless I have a properly setup betta barracks system...since my family didn't really appreciate my obsession....lol...

why s that ? fighting ?

I've kept 1 male and 2 female bettas together in a 20 gal community tank with lot's of hiding places and that worked out ok, but .... trust me, you can't go any smaller than that without having the male terrorising the females. I've tried. It just doesn't work. And now I've got guilt :hang:
