My friend has a betta and I'm pretty sure she is just letting it die. I had an idea of putting in my 10g tank but im not sure if it will get along with my other fish. I have 2 platties, 2 black skirt tetras, a clown loach, and a pictus catfish. any ideas?
well the ten gallon is pretty much maxed- did you know that clown loaches can grow up to a foot long!!!!! if you returned the pictus and the loach (both of which like company of their species anyway) you will have enough room. pictus are very active swimmers and like to have at least a 29 gallon for them to be more active and show their 'true colors' off, loaches too, need lots of swimming room and prefer the copmpany of other loaches in schools, so I wouldnt recoomend anything less than a 75 for 3 of them (even that is really pushing it as each one will be at least 8 inches if not a foot long at maturity). good luck and i hope the betta situation turns out alright!!!
If you think your friend is letting it die, your tank would be worth a try!! Why do you say that anyway? Maybe you could help them care for it, or suggest they return it to the store?
