Betta Questions??

ask some experts bout the anubias , but from what i heard anubias can live in very low light even with a few hours of not direct sunlight or even with room amience light , ask the guys in planted aquariums section , it s good for betta if u can go with some plants

I have a RO/DI unit that i use for my salt water aquarium. A friend of mine has been using the water for about 4 months now no problems. I went out of town for a weekend, I received a call from him saying he needs water. I told him "Sorry, I'm out of town at the moment." He went to the store bought "Spring Water" and the Betta died in minutes. Don't use spring water buy the distilled water.
Kind of, but not exactly... Treated tap is fine. Spring water, RO water, snake oil betta water... it's all money out the window IMO.
I still think it's a waste of money and I work for Petco. I have never had anyone have any problem with spring water for a betta. I'm not sure on the setup that smartdog's friend had so I can't comment on that.
I have my betta in a 3 gallon Eclipse with Anubis and it is doing great. It really doesn't need a lot of light and it makes it more natural looking. In my 5 gallon mini bow I bought a CFL bulb at Walmart for $5 in the pet department. It is design to fit the old incandescent bulbs that come with that tank. It should be enough light to support live plants and your tank will look so much better then the lights that came with the tank.
It will help with the ammonia to have the live plants. The 80-20 tap water would work.

im not using tap water thats all im saying cause every fish i have died from the tap even after dechlorinated...what should i use, distilled, that petstore water (which ill prob use)...smartdog says i cant use springwater?
I have never had a problem with spring water. I don't know what happened with smartdog's friend. Was it in a tank or a bowl and was all the water changed was the temp that he took out the same as water he put in etc. I could go on but I won't. RO(Distilled) water is great for saltwater tanks because it's pure water and you add minerals to the water by adding salt. Distilled water is on the acidic side.
It's really up to you. We can only give advice. If you want use the pet store water it's fine just a bit pricey. I checked on it at the store and it is $6.79 for 2 gallons which is better then what they sell the "Betta Water" for at $4.79 for 2 quarts. The price you pay in the store will be more then the online price at least at Petco. Good luck with whatever you choose.
