Need help with a sick betta, he has his own 5g tank. He mostly just lays on the bottom the tank. He still eats food and everything. His tail has lost all of its colour and is more or less just white. He also has white across the top of him. Water params are fine (0 Ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10 nitrates). He's a crowntail male betta.

There is a filter, but no heater. I've been speculating the tank might be too cold for him. Usually about 73-75F
Around 78-80 really. Turn the temp up gradually, and make sure the water stays clean...give him about a week and I bet you will see a difference. How much and what do you feed?
Just a pinch nightly of some betta food flake. Can always change it if you don't think that's sufficent. I've also been doing partial water changes to try and help.
Well, keep up the water changes..you do use dechlorinater right?
As far as food, they do like a varied diet too. I feed mine the flakes and pellets, but they LOVE frozen bloodworms, krill and mysis shrimp also (be sure to thaw it before feeding) you can try the freeze dried instead though if you want, mine are spoiled though and wont touch it. I through other stuff in too, like shrimp, and scallops...but I have 6 tanks that I split it between.

I kept my betta's at a constant 83 fins stayed open and was very active. I fed my guys live daphnia, brine, and frozen bloodworms.
Yeah I use a dechlorinator, Aquaplus is currently what i'm using. Use the same stuff on my other two tanks and they're quite healthy and active. As for a varied diet I don't have much access to anything other then flakes and pellets. Walmart has a crap selection and the only local pet store has an even more crap selection. The nearest frozen fish food is an hour's drive. I'll probably pick some up next time i'm out that way.
