My betta's tail is split down the middle! Does this ever happen naturally as they age, or did something that wasn't supposed happen cause this? I'll try to get a picture up asap, but his rear tail is basically split in two down the middle. His fins all seemed normal until this afternoon when I noticed. :(

Bettas tear their delicate fins now and then. The long finnage is completely unnatural and was a result of intense breeding. To keep betta finnage immaculate, people keep them in very small tanks so they don't swim arround too much. A betta in any good size tank with a current will swim around and tatter its tail fins.

Dont you worry Bender81
The tail will heal by itself. It's very common for Bettas to tear up their fins.
Mine manages to tear it up even with the silk plant in his bowl.
Just make sure that the water is clean - else you would be inviting fungus to grow on those torn fins (or wounds if any) - and then you could be in real trouble.
