My bad-- I guess I couldn't believe you have almost 5 watts of light over your tank! I change my comment to "put a lot of big bushy plants in your tank so your betta doesn't go blind"... 
Also--C02 will likely be necessary with such high lighting or else algae may become a problem.

I personally enjoy hearing my tanks from the other room when I am in bed.
as far as the betta's go, many will not agree with this, but it should be ok if you change most of the water at least once a week. I change about 50% of their water once or twice a week and my bettas are doing great. They are active and make lots of bubble nests.
