Ok I know questions like this have arisen(sp?) numerous time in this form but I cant seem to fid the exasct answer. I have a tank setup currently with 10 cherry shrimp (maybe more as they are breeding), a few plants, and a piece of driftwood covered in moss. I would like to add a betta and maybe 4-5 long-finned blue danios. Does anyone know how this might work out? Do you think the danios may nip at the betta or the betta may attack the danios?? I have a 3 gallon bowl with filter and heater just incase it doesnt work out.

I have a betta w/7 neons, in a 15 gal tall. no problems for 3 months. Neons are nippers but if you keep the school large enough the nipping should stay in the group.

Neons nipped my bettas fins to shreds, there was a school of 14 of them in a 29g.

the betta will kill any shrimp in the tank under about 1 inch in length, 1 1/2 for some individuals.

Mmmm didnt even think about the shrimp. Any other ideas for a colorfull fish i could put in with the danios ?? That would be nice to m lil shrimpies.

yep, they sure do kill shrimp. I once had to move my betta to my 10G for a bit, and I had 7 ghost shrimp in there. the next day only 2 were left alive.
a dwarf gourami would be good and would go with the other SE asian creatures.
