my 4 bettas eat anything... i dont know why they just devour anything thats avaliable to eat, i change their diets every day though Sunday, Monday they get Freeze dried Brine Shrimp, Tuesday, Wednesday they get pellets, thursday, Friday they get Flake food, and then saturday they get freeze dried bloodworms(just ran out of them though)
After three bettas I've found two things out for sure. First bettas and picky eaters and two after awhile they'll settle for what you feed them LOL. I only fed my first betta wardly betta pellets or somingthing like that uhm he died rather quickly, but he was the FIRST fish I kept, and kept POORLY. Still have the stuff sitting arround. Bucky the first wouldn't touch it nor would bucky the secound. You'll see a naming trend here soon LOL. Bucky the secound would eat blood worms and regular flake food but wouldn't touch the pelets wardley makes. He lived happily on it along with some blood worms I hand fed him untill he died without a known cause after 6 months maybe old age. Now 6months after buckyII died I started my 10G tank up and cycled it for a new betta. Enter Bucky the third. He was just as picky about his food at first but once he learned what the food was ,tetramin betta flakes I believe, he eats them with no complaints. About a week ago I added two spotted corries to his tank and now he's after the shrimp pellets for desert so to speak. I know he'd love blood worms as well but I think he has enough to eat for now. I think you just need to commit to a food that isn't to large or needs to soak up water to be edible and they'll be fine eating it after they get used to the feeding schedual.

Yep, bettas are picky eaters.
We've had one that only ate Hikari gold.
We have one right now that refuses to eat the Hikari Gold stuff - he just spits them out.
This current one will only eat Tetra BettaMin - go figure.
Most bettas hate the stuff - the Tetra BettaMin.
Lol, he's still turning his nose up at the freeze dried bloodworm, but I *did* catch him having a sly nibble at the flakes!
He still goes nuts for peas though, think they're his fave
Thanks for all your input, it's really appreciated! He's my first Betta and I really want to make sure that he's as happy and healthy as I can make him
Worked out why he ignores the Bloodworm! He's sucking the little baby snails off of the water surface! Live food's got to be nicer for him that stuff that doesn't wriggle on the way down! (yuch..er... I mean... mmmm yummy)
Thanks for all your help again Guys! So glad that I found this place!
I was worried about why my beta wouldn't eat anything but the frozen bloodworms i fed twice a week...
until i noticed that my snail infestation was slowly decreasing. Turned out that he only ate what he liked, and ate snails whenever I fed him anything else
