hav a betta in a 20 long, right now he is the only fish in there. i am usin a Penguin 150 for filtration and i was wondering is this a 2 strong a current for a betta. the filter will cycle 150gl an hour. i watch my betta and it seems to swim ok not gettin pushd against the wall or anything. but sometimes when he gets close to the out flow of the filiter he gets pushed down by it. am i makin his life miserable by havin him in the 20 gl with tht filter? is there a way to slow the flow of my filter without damagin my filter or the filter process. just lookin for suggestion and any advice ppl may have

He will learn with time were the current is in the tank. Once he has learned this he will swim around the area instead of right through it. Try to place the filter on one side of the tank instead of the middle. This will give part of the tank a current while the other end will be calm.

i hav the filter all the way on the left if tht matters. i i like the sponge idea as long as it doesnt damage my fliter or something. i was also thinking about addin a large rock that he can rest behind, not sure if that would slow the water in a certain spot or not. i may also add more taller plants. i hope he doesnt wear himeself out. is it ok to turn the filter off so he may get a rest ever once and awhile. for about an hour? or is that ill advise.
