Does this look like fin rot? Any other ideas? He has a cave he likes to swim into, so I'm not sure if he damaged his tail there.
Ammonia and Nitrite levels are 0. Nitrate less than 5ppm The ph is a bit high at 8.3, but it is normally right at 8.
I've had this Betta for almost 5 years now. A student gave it to my wife, and he started out his life in a bowl, about 7 months ago he got his own 20g, because it was sitting empty and I thought he could use some more room. He has always acted just fine in the tank.
I'm not sure how long ago, but the top of his tail has become a little disclored and seems to be more shrivled than before. The top of his tail has never been "full" so I'm not sure how much his tail has changed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
