Bettafix and an Ich treatment?

I am sorry I didn't respond back--I got so busy at work!

The bad news is that the angel did not make it--I feel terrible! I guess a lesson learned the hard way . . .

The angel and the betta had only been in the tank for about a week. I did cycle it before adding the fish. I tested the water with one of those testing kits and everything looked normal.

I wanted to start out small, so the tank I have is an Eclipse Corner 5 Aquarium by Marineland from Petsmart. Here is what their website says about the filtration "The BIO-Wheel filter eliminates ammonia and nitrite while the cartridge screens out dirt, fish waste and uneaten food." The cartridge is a carbon filter.

When the angel died, I started treating the betta for the ich. The treatment was the same one that they gave me at Petsmart the first time we battled it. It is Rid-Ich by Kordon. I have been treating him since Sat and haven't seen much change yet. I wish I had seen the reply about the salt treatment first! This treatment is staining EVERYTHING blue.

Should I continue down this path? I just want to get him better!! If I lose him too, I am not sure I will have the confidence to try again!

I did do a 25% water change before the treatment and with each new treatment. I removed the carbon filter (per the instructions on the bottle)

I am so lost.
Thanks for all your help!

By the way--I am coming to you guys first now. I am not listening to the people at the petstore anymore!!
