Bettas and Flake food Question

I've broken apart the pellets with my fingernails. I think sometimes fish don't like the size or shape of the pellets.
I do that for one of my betta, it never can eat the pellet in one bite takes him a couple of tries to finally catch it so i always crush the pellet and feed it to him. Other betta eats the pellet w/o problem.

I do that as well with the larger pellets (split them in 2). Usually if I listen very carefully, I can hear him crunch away on the pellets. Kinda cute to hear that.

Bettas do have teeth you know. Very sharp teeth and very strong jaws. You don't beome a superior fighting fish by gumming your opponent. I think it's actually good for them to have to munch and crunch a little to get their dinner. It's an "activity" for them.

we feed our bettas hbh betta bites we love hearing them munch on them and these say they are color enhancing i dont see a diffrence in there colors tho . how often do you feed your bettas tho our bottle says feed sparingly twice a day yet when we got them they told us feed every other day just a tiny bit.i have been just feeding them the same time of day i feed the other pets in the house like a nightly ritual.do yall think our bettas are starving?

nope i dont think there starving i feed my bettas once a day everyday and i alternate what kind of food i feed them (all of my bettas hate flake food and some wont eat the pellets but all of them love freeze dried bloodworms).

I was able to feed my new betta some frozen mosquito larvae today. He ate them pretty much right away. I've also been feeding freeze dried bloodworms.

I put some NLS 1mm cichlid pellets in the tank too but I'm not sure if he ate those or not. Still have to try frozen mysis, brine, and daphnia. I think he'll eat all those.
