I have a Betta in my community tank and he doesn't bother any of the other fish. I aqctually had to return black skirt tetras and bleeding heart tetras for nipping at his fins. So I think he has a pretty mellow personality. Now I'm wondering can guppies reside in a tank with a Betta? Does anyone have guppies with their betta?

It really depends on the betta. There have been some threads already on this subject, and most people said that their bettas were aggressive towards the guppies, and this combination would most likely not work. Most bettas see the bright colours and flowing fins as a threat. I myself would like to keep guppies with my betta, but I'm concerned whether they would get along or not. On one hand, my betta is very passive and peaceful, but it might as well can strike out against the guppies if he mistakes them for other male bettas.

I've had a betta in my tank with 4 platies,3swordtails and 2 corys. He gets along fine with themand has never showed aggression at them.He is a mellow betta.
