bettas with ghost shrimp?

I have a betta and a bunch of cherry shrimp in a 10 gal heavily planted tank. The betta chased them for the first day but then pretty much lost interest.
Who knows if it'll stay that way...
There's no way to know how a betta will react. It's a gamble.
Definitely do not put a female in with the male! They will likely fight until one of them is dead.

my betta and ghost shrimp got along fine :)

I placed a male betta in my 75g with shrimps before and he left them alone but on the above accounts, it depends. If the shrimps are expensive, I would never risk it.
 
hey guys i already put in the betta since the ghost shrimp are cheep. they seem to be getting along fine and the betta doesnt even look at them. hey one of you guys mentioned ghost shrimp turning white. some of mine turned white and died too. do you think that it from lack of calcium?

What are your water parameters?
 
all of my water parameters are fine. ammonia is 0, nitrate is 5, and nitrite is 0. I also have harlequin rasboras that look healthy. I am using RO water. so do you guys think that it is from lack of calcium? should i put in some of those RO reclaim chemistrys?

Unless you replenish the RO water with minerals, then they're likely to have been deprived of minerals.
