Depends on the betta. It would take awhile for the betta to finish eating a full size ghost shrimp, so the dead shrimp would foul the water I would imagine before the betta could eat it all.
Some betta won't even bother the shrimp.

Actually, I put them in as clean up crew. They were all pretty small. I figured she would pick one off every couple days then I would get another dozen. She attacked the 2 mystery snails I tried in there also!
I moved 2 ghost shrimp from my 55g into my 10 that holds Herman-the betta and 2 apple snails. I'm curious as to see how long they will last. They dont make it long in the 55g although I have never seen anything actually eating them, I am sure something is though cause I never find any little bodies.
