I live in Michigan and we have many amazing Micro Brews. Two of them are within an hour where I live currently. Bell's Brewery which is down the street and New Holland Brewery. I haven't visited Bell's yet because I met a distributer who was a total idiot. She claimed that Bell's had the highest content of beer on the market. Which is untrue as it is Sam Adams Brew that costs over $150.00 a bottle, I forget the alc vol but it's high I think maybe 15%. Besides every brew taster knows it is the TASTE not the alc vol. I will be visiting that brewery within a month.
New Holland was a HUGE micro brew and they created my favorite ale which is the Red Tulip. This ale is a deep red and is somthing you have never tasted in ales before. Holland Michigan has the annual Tulip Time festival and every year around that time New Holland brews that delicious ale. It honestly reminds you of Tulips... It's odd. My girl friend loves the beer because it reminds her of home... And she hates beer.
The best Micro Brew I have ever visited is where I originate from (DETROIT!!!). It is called Dragon Meade... They have a site, google it. It is located in Warren Michigan on 696 off of Grosebeck Highway exit. The bar itself is a smaller size but they have so many different brews it's mind numbing. The most popular is Final Absolution which is a #1 Trippel awarding winning World Brew Masters Cup and it is easily the most amazing brew I have ever tasted in my life! If you can pick this up somehow you do it! They also have many other World Brew Master Cup awards on different brews. His awards wrap around the bar walls. It's amazing.
For a basic beer I chose Canadian's Labatt Beer. It is usually cheaper than Bud or Miller or Coors but you can actually taste the beer! I prefer bottles over all... If you were to buy a beer from the shelves it was ment for bottles... Cans were made for outdoors men because it's illegal to have glass in your boat.
other than Kilkenny I'm not to partial to cans
definitely prefer bottle
I tend to drink like I eat very very quickly - out of a bottle I can drink two or three while most people drink one - they don't last near that long in a glass, so I almost never use a glass
