I think your filter is fine, but you'll want to put a sponge over the intake so it won't suck up the fry.
 
Definitely get a sponge. I have one that slips right over the intake tube of my aquaclear 60.
 
Nah, it's not actually for my filter. It's for one of those small blue internal filters for like a 10 gallon tank. But the sponge is tall enough that it completely covers my intake tube. I'll try to get you a pic of the sponge. I think Ken's fish sells them.

Oh ok thanks so i could get one before they become pro's at breeding. Also what food for the fry do you guys most recommend I know Hikari first bites has both good and bad reviews any other foods I should look into and/or buy???
 
We feed our fry newly hatched brine shrimp.
 
You can buy the eggs at most pet stores. I think we paid $10 for a tube of about 5000 eggs.
