I work at a seafood and poultry wholesale supplier to restraunts. We do some retail to, but that's not important. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything I could feed my bichirs from here. We get fresh stuff in everyday. Shrimp, Fish, Livers, Scallops, Clams. Would they eat smelt if I cut it up? They are all about 5 to 7 inches right now.

Should I shell the shrimp first? Cut the tail off? Or just throw the whole thing in?

If I buy a new one I am getting a 120. However I have been finding a lot of used ones, around 90 to 150 gallons for much cheaper. MUCH. With it being near christmas though I don't have the spare money right now. So anywhere from 90 to 150. I will be sure to post pictures when I have it and set up.

why no land based meats... mine eat beef heart and its there fav. Dont worry they dont get it to often. I've noticed that they are not a big fan of squid

Actually you can give them chicken gizzards and livers just remove any fat you can.
Most fish have a hard time digesting fat thats why if you buy beefheart at say a grocers you have to cut it into strips and remove any fat -Anne
