But not too big!
I've just finally gotten hold of a big tank (72Lx18Hx21D).
I want to get some bigger barbs than the usual things when I eventually get it set up - I used to keep clowns, gold barbs, spanners, lemon fins and a couple of cigar sharks but I don't want to go so big this time as there's no chance of a bigger tank later on.
I like striped barbs (p. johorensis) but I read that they need a heavily planted tank and I'm not doing that (amazon biotope is my style). Plenty of hidey holes from wood and rocks but no plants!
Tankmates will be gold barbs, weather loaches, a siamese bumblebee catfish, brown hoplos, a bristlenose, corydoras and possibly a bigger pleco of some kind.
I'm thinking a shoal of odessa barbs but I want another species that's larger, around the 6" mark or so that could happily live with the above.
So suggestions please! Oh and one other thing; it's unheated and steady at about 21C.
