My boyfriend Jose and I went to a big box LFS and I was horrified to find out that the fish were not being taken care
of at all. There was nobody watching them or even by the tanks who works there. There
were at least 8 dead fish (maybe more) in a 5 gallon tank. All the dead fish were stuck to
the filter. There was at least 1 dead fish in each tank. I was so disgusted by this I wrote an e-mail to WSPA.
I'm hoping that you will help me figure out a way to save these fish and help ban them,
considering they don't take care of them. Dead fish in a tank causes ammonia and great stress
to fish. The water was filthy and full of dead and sick fish. Putting a fish from a tank that
has dead or sick fish to another tank will cause other fish illness or even death.
They even had bettas, which are not hard to take care of... but some were dead in
their little cups. It had looked like they had been there for days, just rotting.
They should not be able to sell these poor creatures. They don't have anyone
experienced with fish, if somebody wanted one they would just get who ever is around.
Think about a kid getting a fish from there then finding it dead the next morning just
because it came from a tank with dead and sick fish. It's sad and rediculous.
These species need help. I need help.. It angered me so much, I didn't even want to
want to be in there anymore.
