I have had two Oscar in a 75 gallon for almost a decade. They killed a large JD I added. If I knew then what I know now I would not have done it. I think two large cichlids are the limit for a 75 gallon tank.
From my experience, you could put an Oscar and a JD in a 20 and they'll be fine (so long as you don't put two JD's that start spawning, good times). However, if you want them to be a little more peacefull and grow bigger, put them in a 50 or even the 75
