Big decisions.

75 gallons is the minimum IMO for two oscars OR for two JDs.

From my experience, you could put an Oscar and a JD in a 20 and they'll be fine (so long as you don't put two JD's that start spawning, good times). However, if you want them to be a little more peacefull and grow bigger, put them in a 50 or even the 75

Noooo! This is very bad advice, and I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to give advice if you don't know what you're talking about.

The thought that fish will only grow as big as their surroundings is a myth of the hobby. The fish will be 'stunted', and will die at a young age.

1 Oscar will need an aquarium that is at least 2ft wide, 4-5ft long, and 2ft tall. Measurements are more important than gallons, because people tend to say that 75 gallons is good for an oscar, but if it's a 75g tall, you'll basically have a framed oscar.

If you want to see that many fish in the tank at once buy 300g or bigger. These fish are more prone to aggresion in smaller spaces. Say you do buy them very small , they will be ok for about a year then the fights will start( notice I said will start). Now you could be lucky and they eventually settle down, but then comes the problem of filtering a high bio load to water ratio, which is much harder to keep clean. The reason being is because there is less water to dillute the wastes, and if you have kept cichlids before you will know they are messy eaters. Ok if you dont mind the 40% water changes every thrid day( you will need them ) do you have a hospital tank to treat you fish when they get stessed out get diseased? Jmo but go for one nice cichlid or buy the bigger tank.

I'd say for 1. 2 Adult O's will need at least 100-120, it really just depends on tank measurements.

I second that motion!!!

2 feet wide and 2 feet tall are not minimums, atleast not in my mind. Most Oscars grow to be anywhere from 10" to 14", probably an average of 12" or so. There's no need for your tank to be 24" deep, 18" would really be sufficient...and same thing for height, I think 18" is plenty.

Yea, that IS true.
