What about just a couple little fish? total inhabitants of my 29 planted display are one 3/4in A. cacatuoides female, and one 1/4in male. How's that for understocked.

That's the way I like it too. Here are my current tanks with stocking:

29g -->1 pair of Rams + 50 fry
29g -->1 pair of Rams
40g breeder -->1 pair of Rams, 6 otocinclus
20g -->1 pair of A. cacatoides
10g -->1 pair of A. borellii

Understocked tanks are just easier to maintain than overstocked or "correctly" stocked tanks.

I'd call that a lot of little fish ;)

getting 180 in the summer. look at my sig and see why. I fit in well at Monster Fish Keepers :joke:

P.S. I'm mudskipper there

i like all fishes. i want to someday have a 180g with an oscar, 2 fire eels, and a trinidad pleco. and i want a 75-100g with congo tetras and some other small tetra (like silver tips or rummynose) and a 55g with my red honey gourami, a couple female honeys, my otos, and more tetras (glowlights and blues)

oh yeah, and my husband will probably have a 340g tank with either a school of balas, or discus and something.

I prefer BIG....

I prefer lots of little fish with one or two larger 'centerpiece' fish, but there's something to be said for keeping one monster pet fish too.

Mooman, watch your levels closely and do lots of water changes with that heavy bioload ;)
