Bike Week Anyone?

Not this year. The Buell is once again experiencing it's intermitent electrical problems. Only 3500 miles on the bike and I'm retiring it :mad2 HD service can't fix it, they are useless. Long story short, it needs a complete wiring harness made with Suzuki or Honda components. I'll have that done AFTER I get my new bike, I miss riding. There is no way I'd try to make it to Daytona on the Buell. Anyone considering a HD product had better be able to do their own repairs. HD service has taken a nose dive over the past few years and is getting worse.

This weekend is the Motorcycle Stunt Wars at Lakeland Speedway, that's about as far as I'm going :(

This is the first year in a while that I didn't venture down south for Daytona bike week. I don't think the riding down that way is all that great, at least not that week becuase of all the traffic, but the parties are fun. There are lots of cool bikes, girls and parties though, its something riders should at least experience once.

I've been to Bike Week twice, but just for day visits. Incredible variety of bikes!
I think the best way to 'enjoy' Bike Week is to stay in the immediate area at least 2 or 3 days. Traffic getting there and back on the weekend is real bad..

I've heard of the problems.. I do like the sound of them, and some look real good, but I'd never own one. I don't have time to learn how to fix 'em.. :thud:

I agree with that! ....
:)

I usually go there for 5-7 days and while I'm there I never have enough time to see everything. Between the vendors and the bikes just parked on the streets there is so much to see.

Sensei_the_dojo, nice bike! Why so few spokes? My "pedal power" has more.. Titanium rims???

Here's my pedal power.... Raleigh SC-30..

Thanks, Joe. I'm hoping to post my third "century" ride of the year on the OCR-1 this Saturday.

Paired spokes: A minimally-spoked wheel that uses paired crosses of spokes on opposing sides of the rim to maintain a higher degree of lateral strength than would be possible using a standard lacing with an equal number of spokes. A rigid rim is an essential component of this exotic-looking configuration (popularized by Trek, and Shimano).

Yours is a nice looking bike too. There are times my body tells me I maybe should have gone with a comfort bike or hybrid rather than a roadie myself.
