Bio-Bale?

i have a backpack protien skimmer, and i have a reef tank. I was wondering if i should have bio bale in it, and if it would make a difference.

CPR makes a bakpak without the bale specifically for reef tanks, called the 2R. The bale probably won't hurt anything, as long as debris doesn't collect on it. If you remove it, there may be a problem with bubbles entering the tank.
