Bio-Spira, does it work?

i found out since most of my filters i have take the same boi bags that i can cycle them faster buy taking a boi bag out of a tank i already have set up and put it into the filter with the new tank. and after 24 hours my levels seam to get faily good. then i put some fish in and don't have any probloms.

Well I am just reading this thread and I am sorry nobody told you to let the fish out of the bag (6 hours between your two posts), I hope you let them go because your tank is far better than that bag even with unconditioned water.

Huh. I understand what you are saying here, cyborob, but it's not like people need to sleep, or eat, or have families and other priorities, eh? ;)

I'm actually confused as to why he bought the fish before he had the conditioner in hand. The information was here a couple of days ago.

Regardless, yes, the tank would be far safer than keeping them in a bag.

you can check Big Al's online if your LFS doesnt carry.

They also carry a store brand that is a little cheaper.

Big Als only ships ground. No express.

i had some fun filling my 80 gallon last night .. I noticed that using my no-spill python that if i kept the siphon under water it would make a BILLION bubbles and just circulate like crazy ...

figured that must have gotten most of the chlorine lol

Make sure you use some water from the hot water tap and put a nylon stocking (pantyhose) over the end and fasten it with a rubber band. It will diffuse the nitrogen bubbles and make them gas off.

Since I started using the stocking -- which I was using so that I could drain and fill without fear of sucking fish up when I wasn't in the room -- I've not had any massive bubble problems. A few, mind you, but not near as I used to get.

Worth a try.

What? You don't have a PDA phone running WM5 subscribed to you all your threads you post in, then set to vibrate you when there is a reply in those threads? Sheesh!!! :duh:
Hehehe!

Yes any conditioner for that matter. Once I have fish in the bag I am just wired to want to get them out of there as fast as possible. Hope they made it.

As to Bio Spira, I used this on my 36, the tank cycled in about 4 days with one very small ammonia then nitrite reading.

there aren't any Petsmarts where i live (Queens, New York). The closest one is in New Jersey. We have more PetCo's in New York, even so the closest one is more than 10-15 miles away. I don't even know if they carry Bio-Safe or Prime. I'll call and check out the closest ones to me first, traveling to Manhattan is really a last resort for me. I want to get this water conditioned immediately!

 Give these folks a call. http://www.fishtown-usa.com/contact.htm Unlike the Petco's & Petlands they only deal in FISH!! Good Luck

Er. . . what the . . how nice. It's always nice to find your web site graphics have been ripped off, isn't it?

Their icon for the Boesemani rainbowfish is from an image that was ripped off my site and that really, really bothers me.

Nasty email time.
