Bio-Spira, does it work?

So, I call them and I get three different people who ask me if the image is copyright. Can you BELIEVE that? I guess they just can't read.

They even have a friend of mine's incisus on their site as well.

They'd better remove the **** thing pronto.

What? You don't have a PDA phone running WM5 subscribed to you all your threads you post in, then set to vibrate you when there is a reply in those threads? Sheesh!!! :duh:
Hehehe!

a store had Prime available. Fortunately or unfortunately (it's either) 1 BF tetra died so it was exchanged for another one. water was treated (Prime does smell really bad) and entire contents of the 1oz Bio-Spira was added along with the BF tetra's. They are schooling and look fine, just still a bit shaken up and hiding. But now that i can see them better, 1 of the tetra's has an open wound on the right side of its body. should i take it out to quarantine it and treat with Melafix?

 Give these folks a call. http://www.fishtown-usa.com/contact.htm Unlike the Petco's & Petlands they only deal in FISH!! Good Luck

haha, thats the place where i got my fish, bio-spira, and prime water conditioner. when i walked in, i was happy to see very very healthy fish, clean and clear water and helpful workers. they also have the bristlenose plecos i want, and even advised me not to buy them now and wait until the tank has settled, although i was only inquiring if they had any. so they are knowledgable and not forceful into making a sale. Prices are OK, as i have seen lower, but with such a good selection and great fish, whats not to love?

Roan Art, i hope you get that picture situation sorted out, i noticed that the website had really blurry and inconsistent pictures, they went everywhere to get them!

They removed it.

Funny how a shop that gave you such a good impression would illegally rip off another site's photos like that. Whomever did their web site needs a kick in the posterier.

lol, well said. i went to your site looking for the Boesemani rainbowfish picture they stole, couldn't find that specific one but they all had the same style to it so i could tell they took something (hopefully, just a lazy underpaid webmaster not entirely assosiated with the store). by the way, nice rainbowfish website!

Not only was it the first image I put up on the site, but it was on the home page AND it's the favicon.ico for the site. This is the original graphic I had up there:

image-map-Boesemani.gif

Here's what it looks like at almost the size they reduced it to:

little_boe.jpg

The fish, btw, is mine and his name is Sunny. Sunny has a lot of yellow in him, but no way like that. I fudged the colors big time fooling around with the picture and decided to use it as a temporary image for the home page. That's why it caught my eye and I knew it was MY image. You're not going to find a Boesemani with bright yellow like that. It's totally unnatural. PhotoShop does wonders :)

Thanks for the kind words about the Bowheads! site, btw. I appreciate it. Oh, and none of the other pictures have fudged colors. I only did that one as an experiment and it was only there for a short time.

well keep up the good work! maybe you should keep using photoshop to give your pictures a very personal and individual twist.

anyways, its now day 2 since introducing the BF tetras to the tank. i tested the water day before adding them, they are as followed:

6/29/06
pH - 6.8 ppm
Ammonia - 0 ppm
Nitrate - 0 ppm
Nitrite - 0 ppm

6/30/06 *bio-spira and fish added this day*
pH - 6.8 ppm
Ammonia - 0.25 ppm
Nitrate - 5 ppm
Nitrite - 0 ppm

im going to test today's water later on. just want to make sure its going as planned after using Bio-Spira. i finally purchased some food today, Nutrafin Max tropical fish flake food and freeze dried brine shrimp cubes. feeding was a little difficult as the tetras would go hide near a corner next to some plants and a pagoda when i approached the tank. i crumbled the flakes smaller and floated them into the water, not on it. Tetras would occassionally go eat some but the flakes fell pretty fast. most of it ended up on the bottom. same thing with brine shrimp cubes float so i crumbled it smaller. i noticed they were hesitant to swim around and eat with me there so i stepped back a few. tetras were still shy.

how long do you think the tetras will feel comfortable and start to school around the tank and not in the corner, even with me or anyone else there looking? i know it's still early, just want some tips on how i can make them feel at home. so far, i've left the light on very little during the day, they seemed to like that. anything else i should do? i haven't done any water changes as suggested, but i would like to clean up those fallen flakes/brine shrimp.

thanks
