Bio-Spira has failed?

Well, as it turns out, Bio-Spira has not failed and I have not failed either. I just tested the water again and I now have 0.50 ammonia, 0.50 nitrite, and 5.0 nitrate. :thm:

"Its been 8 days without Nitrite or Nitrate development. Even a normal cycle without bio-spira would start showing nitrite development soon."

I disagree. I've had a tank go more than 3 weeks with fish and no Nitrite readings..

Great news on the start of your cycle! What was the peak ammonia? .5? You're in good shape.

NOTE: I've had trouble with AP Nitrite test kits. Once the reading gets past 1.0, it's really unreadable. I have no idea where my Nitrites peaked... I think the "in between" colors look too much like the high numbers.

The ammonia peaked at 0.75, yesterday it was down to 0.5, and I haven't tested it yet today.

I cycled an 80 gallon in 6 days using some seeded media from my 20 gallon 0.o

I couldn't believe it.

I had 3 danio in there with no ammonia or nitrite...

i took those back and added a pair of boesemi and i'm ok ... I got a bit of a spike of ammonia this morning (.1) and my nitrite is down to about .2
