Hi
I loaded my 18g tank with enough bio spira for a 30g and a small F8 puffer on wednesday and so far so good!!
I have been testing daily and today had
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 12
I realise we are not out of the woods yet but wondered how long most people would still do daily tests for.
I am assuming I can water change after a week or so as normal.
Thanks for your thoughts and experiences
Sue

I would test every day for a week, do a water change, then test every day for the next week. After that you can slow it down some. 2 weeks with regular maintenance in between would make me feel pretty comfortable if it were my tank. Is this a brackish tank?

The puffer was in freshwater at the LFS and the bio spira was for frehwater so I am going to leave her in freshwater until she is settled and i am happy the tank is stable and then up the salinity by .002 weekly until she is at the correct salinity, I asked advise on the puffer forum so i am quite happy with that :)
Thanks for your help
Sue
