i have a 15 gallon tank that has been cycling for about a month using 10 rosy red minnows. my tank has had ammonia and nitrite for quite some time without any signs of nitrates. so i bought bio spira and threw it in there. i know about the refridgerating and to my knowledge it was refridgerated, so you dont have to ask. i added it sunday night and i did not see a change before work today. is there something wrong
 
From what I know it usually takes about a week or so for it to work and thats if it works. This is only my opinion and I could be wrong.
 
yea i did shake it up before using it. its been less than 48 hours so i am not too worried but the main question is if it is okay to add it after the fish instead of at the exact same time. i dont think it should since bacteria need the ammonia to survive.
 
Yea it's fine. I added some to my 55g about a month after I got my tank up and running, and I didn't have any problems. All my fish are still alive, and after I added it, it only took 2-3 days to be fully cycled.
 
Has your ammonia gone down to 0? If so, that's a good indication the bio-spira is working. I think the nitrite eating bacteria (sometime I should learn the names of the two different types) grow more slowly, so the next phase can take a bit longer. After that, the nitrates should show up.
