Bio Spira

Hello all;
I am just getting back into the hobby after about a 15 year absence. The world has surely changed. I have read some information about Bio Spira and would appreciatwe the comments of those that have experience with this product. If it does what some have told me it does it is approaching miraculous. When I became a fish keeper tanks were cycled using gold fish and the process was 6 to 8 weeks and usually included loss of the first several batches of tropicals. The idea of cycling a tank in a couple weeks using a full fish load and the magic juice is to say the very least attractive. Comments appreciated.

I have never used Bio Spira but i hear really good things about it. I still do what you did 15 years ago. I will get just some cheep guppys or zebras from a local breeder and put them in there after a couple days of letting the water sit. I was going to use bio spira for my 150 gallon when i set it up, but then i saw how much it cost. If you are wanting to get the tank set up quickly then i would use it. From what i hear you just add it in and your ready to go. Welcome back to the hobby!!!

Yes, it works, but "a couple of weeks" is incorrect. I've cycled 13 tanks with Bio Spira and on a couple of them I did use filters from another tank. Six of them cycled overnight, no helper filters. The rest cycled in anywhere from 2 days to a week. Never over that unless it was something stupid I did *whistles innocently*

it's a freshwater search on "Bio Spira" "BioSpira" and "Bio-Spira". People tend to spell it all three ways and there will be a few duplicates.

Anyhow, you can read up and make an informed decision on the product.

Personally, I won't cycle a tank or add new fish to a tank without it.

I lost so many fish after repeated problems. I broke down and bought Bio Spira and used it when I set up my 25g and it cycled overnight. It is so worth the cost! The good thing is that you can use too much! I HIGHLY reccomend it and wish you luck. Welcome back!
