Hi Guys,

I've had my aquarium for a little while now but still consider myself a bit of a newbie when it comes to keeping fish. I have a 75 litre tank with an aquaclear mini (running 3 foams only).

It is very lightly stocked with 5 neons and 2 corys. Just wondering if there is any benefit in replacing the top 2 foam inserts with some more biologically focussed media like BioMax or other noodle type media?

Are these things safe to break up, so I could fit more in a filter bag for an insert?

Cheers,

Lucky

I agree, with such light stocking, one foam should be good and some biological filtration would be a great addition.

Keep all sponges. The other bio media eventually will clog and need to be replaced. Sponges are a fine bio media and last a long time and are cheaper and are better for mech filtration.

Oh yeah- I presently have 23 AquaClears running on tanks.:-)
