Just wanted to know if the Coarse Pads of the Eheim 2217 External Filter (the ones which are blue colored discs) and came with the filter will do biological filtration ?
I have the filter media (that came along with the filter) arranged as instructed on the Manual - that is 6 pads of Blue Coarse Sponge and 1 pad of the white fine sponge (infact I have 2 of them placed inside)
Just wanted to know if the blue pads will do the biological filtration for me ? Do they have good surface area for the bacteria to grow ?
Kindly guide me...
