i have just inherited one of these tanks . They are nice to look at but its not a tank i would have gone out and chosen myself. I don't much like the idea of a bowl effect. Prefer a traditional tank,
HOWEVER i do have it now and were it not for me they would behomeless and until i can afford to upgrade ill have to make the most of it.
i have a 30 litre one (8 gallon) it had three fancy fish in it (orange ones think just goldfish with fancy tails) and i want to add three tetras coz i like the look of them. I got a snail yesterday too.
Would i over crowd the tank if i addred the tetras or would it be ok?
I have a 60 litre biorb (see pic, have a newer pic and will post it for you in the next couple of days). I have 1 colomeus puffer, 2 figure 8 puffers 8 green neons and a corydora julii, the water stays crystal clear as long as you keep with 50% water changes everyweek and change the filter canister every 4 weeks. I had a 30 litre for 5 years with 2 goldfish in but got bored with them and gave them to my brother in law and upgraded to the 60 litre and made it tropical. I like it as it looks cool, i also have 50 litre bow front with cichlids
mmmm mine is not so crowded as yours wayne.... i have a few rocks in it and three plants and a shell. Thats it.
i thought this was enough as i prefered to let the fish have more room.
i tihkn maybe your tank is overcrowded with fish and ornaments wayne. Why not take some out and put less in but when you clean the tank out put different things in for variety???
just an idea. Although i don't think im that experienced to be dishing out advice LOL
i would agree. those lava rocks are pretty sharp as is so it's pretty much like keeping your fish in a tank with a painful obstacle course. at least the fish you have now aren't jerky spastic swimmers otherwise you might have some scratched up fishes.
Due to my job i dont have time for more than one water change a week! Ive taken out the live plants and gone with one fake one of which ill post soon but the fish i have are all fine in with the rocks they quite often hide in them when not constantly doing laps. I test the water every week and have never had a problem with water quality
